Tonight we visit the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust again to look at the progress on the rest of the canal, Lock 24 is looking great!

Not a great deal happened in the 25 years following that, then suddenly 2 years and it’s all in water. Money and organisation is what’s needed and HS2 and a few other partners made this happen. one good thing for canal restoration is more firms are trying to offset their impact By supporting green projects, canals can benefit from this

Yes, hs2 own all of it I believe in the middle between Darnford and the cruising club including the lock and house. I believe that this will be sold back to the canal at the right time. It’ll be a great day when it’s all open!

Just an update on the Lichfield sections that you may find interesting. This is the open of the Darnford moors section, it still needs connecting to the network, it’s just waiting for HS2 to happen.

Darnford moors is finally open! Robbie Cumming features in the opening, a lovely chap and it was a pleasure to meet him.

Tonight we take a look at the old Stroudwater and the section of the Cotswold canal that won’t be restored, such a lovely area, it’s a shame!
