  1. I've had a couple of leaking windows, one very little, the other, well is was pouring in.. I contacted Channel Glaze who supplied me with the OEM sealing tape they use for installing windows, its a kind of black foam double sided super sticky tape, windows out, frames cleaned, and with this tape used, no leaks anymore.. I've one more window to seal over the weekend, so will look see if the tape has a product name. Good luck.
  2. Basically the window design (Top hopper vent) is still made today, so Channel Glaze should have a new equivalent that could be retrofitted to the older windows. I would persist with them. Cheers M
  3. I would say sellers market, brokers are very busy at the moment, and will get busier as the warmer weather sets in.
  4. Narrowboat prices are always a guide. I would suggest 20-25% off the asking and starting from there.. One thing, the older the boat, the more likely you are to find BSS related, and level 1 maintenance issues that need addressing, have it written into any offer that the seller resolves these based on the survey findings..
  5. Im referanceing the HA series manual, but should be the same for variants where there is both hand and electric start options e.g. SL/SR/ST/Hx Hand start - decompressors ON Turn the engine 3-10 turns, according to temperature, to prime combustion chamber(s) and lubricating oil system, then turn smartly moving the decompression levers to start Electric Start - Decompressor levers 'must' be left in the off position so the engine is on full compression. HA Instruction book, 582/163, page 22 Hope this is of help
  6. There were three Less Allen Crusiers in the Galley Marine fleet, Explorer, Wayfarer 2, Traveller 2.. I was working at Galley at the time and know them well, have a photo of Wayfarer 2 when new in Gailey Colours somewhere. Wayfarer 2 shows up on the Allen's Register (No 135 renamed Ursula) making the one for sale the sister, the ex Traveller 2.. Engines were all originally BMC 1.5/PRM160 so these would be re-engined now..
  7. One here It was an ex hire boat with Galley Marine, its not the newest, but from a very well respected builder of the time, I would negotiate the price.
