  1. We will use a 30L sealed storage barrel strapped to the back of the boat. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30-litre-blue-Open-Top-Plastic-Barrel-Keg-Drum-with-metal-closure-and-handles-/351201200978?pt=UK_BOI_FarmingEquipment_RL&hash=item51c5390b52
  2. Recycling is great in principal, but it uses a lot of energy. The most important thing in saving the planet is not using energy.
  3. Yes the propane and butane 4.5kg bottles are both screw on but a different screw on, and I agree with the rest of your post. Except I thought Butane had a higher calorific value than propane, so you get more wack for your punch from the butane.
  4. But not on the smaller bottles that fit in my locker. They are both screw fittings different i know ,but if i had my mythical adapter and my adjustable regulator...
  5. My turn to apologize, I am thinking of the adapter to change butane Camping gas to butane Calor gas bottles using the same regulator. But, I do have an adjustable regulator so it would be possible.
  6. I haven't asked anything. Some of us only use our boats in summer. Butane only so no changes of regulator, But you can get an adapter for not many pennies and use the same regulator.
  7. And as big as you can fit for cost effectiveness. Propane (Red) if you are out in winter, Butane (Blue) if not
  8. Where is it available as an app that you don't have to pay for?
  9. My introduction was here. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=70217&hl=
  10. So, As I thought, burning wood is not any more environmentally friendly than burning anything else, except plastic perhaps. The best reason for doing it in my opinion is because it is cheap.
  11. Everyone has probably seen all this too. http://www.britishpathe.com/search/query/canal
  12. That is a funny post, You say that there is too much offence taking then agree with someone who is taking offence. I haven't seen that many folks towing on the tow path! Is it a walking path or a jogging path? A fishing path or a mooring path? Thinking a little more, it is probably a path where a horse is led by a bridle and hence a bridlepath and we all know what is allowed on a bridlepath. And the one above is even funnier. But I might get banned or even arrested if I tried to reply. But, I will take the 80kg as a compliment.
  13. Perhaps they need to remove the signs as well.
  14. There are signs along the Lancaster canal saying you need a permit to cycle!
  15. I did a search on "Britain" but nothing came up.

  17. And the northern reaches of the Lancaster Canal.
  18. Are the mooring rules and regulations on"Remainder" canals any different to normal?
