  2. Evening all, I have been to Stourport today for a wander around the canal basins, i noticed when walking along the river that the landing stage for one of the ageing trip boats (Severn steamer ?) appears to be an old narrow boat - perhaps a 'joey' of some kind. Is there anyone out there who knows anything about the identity of this boat ? Just curious ! Regards Max.
  3. That's not a narrowband - it's a 'hardtop skip' Sorry, narrow boat !
  4. Evening all, A quick question, something that i have often wondered about :- Is there a difference between a horse drawn Narrowboat and a 'Butty' ? I have always assumed that the original design of a horse drawn boat followed through to the 'Butties' built after horse boating faded out. Or, are there some subtle differences that i have never noticed ? Can anyone help. Cheers ! Max.
  5. I have seen very few photo,s with the chimney of a boat protected with what appears to be a polythene bag, there is however another one in this months 'Narrowboat' - the boat being Bluelines 'Stanton' steered by Doris Collins. Just a thought - i may be miles off the mark though. Happy Christmas all ! Max. Did the Collins family work for BW prior to Blueline ?
