CRT working on the marina enterance wall , no access to pump out or diesel for at least a week Plus the casson they have errected goes well out into the Canal, its all signed a bouyed but Saturday guy was trying to turn, I called to him to keep clear but he ignored me until his prop smacked a scafold pole , sounded expensive !

Hi All Just had the boat engine serviced BMC 1800 ran it Sat seemed OK apart from no hot water through the Clarifier . Could this be an air leak and if so what/how do i fix it ?? Cheers

Key point to any mid/long/short term mooring GO AND LOOK and ask anyone on a boat there what it is like and importantly what are the owners like

Came up Hatton few weeks ago in the pissin rain, two V keepers on duty when I arrived , offered them a cuppa , worked us up the whole stretch remember they are volunteers !! at the end of the day . nice when they help , helps tp bribe them, but if they dont , work the lock yourself or stay on the Ashby!

Comming towards the tunnel & Braunston last week , WB coming towards , bit narrow so I pulled over , stopped the boat and gave him room to move round us. As he went by passed me two cans of Stella Wont hear a word said againast my collegues in any kind of WB ho ho hum

Its not the headroom that may cause some issues and a paint rub its the crap state of the locks overall , the gates are very hard to open and the paddles , if they aint brocken are very hard to use Should & could be great trip from the Union into the basin BUT..................

came out of Braunston Sat morning followed by a coupke of boats , third in line a hire boat that twice bumped the guy behind me , and then prevented boats passing with his poor boat handling. was told to slow down, stay back etc but proceedeed to hound us until the guy behind stopped and I let him passed passed me at full tilt and tore off towards Napton, got to some residential boats to hear shouts of slow down and other terms of endeerment , guess how hire boat tearing passed as i had the name of the boat and company caled them to complain , what was the point no interest at all Hire company name ............. VIKING AFLOAT Not the 1st time we have seen this from this company Time the CRT monitored hire company abuse of thier assets !!

Braunston to Fenny Compton & back , stop at Napton Friday night , camping available in Fenny , its a good weekend run , bit of hike into Fenny village and the pubs naff but.......

just got back form a trip round the Warwick Ring , went up Knowle locks and onto Minworth through Brum, what a nightmare the canal is full of rubbish and the locks were all open/vandalised and also full of crap Had to tow a sofa out of one lock and clear rubbish from three others , got threatened by some youths and a couple of junkies 15 hours Knowle to Minworth before we felt safe to moor Should we have gone up through Lapworth is it any better ? CRT what are you doing ! NOT MUCH I would venture

this is a great trip , as quoted push on going too and relax when you arrive , steady return , have someone walk ahead at the narrows ans smile when someone pushes through !

noticed when the espatcher is on the calorifier seems to have developed a leak/spurt of water from what looks like a relief /pressure valve at/close to the base . questions ; is it a relief valve ? are they adjustable or changeable ??

SOO Sad but great to see and find people that care in this all to harsh day .........

strolling to the pub near Braunston last weekend saw a individual mopping out him bilge with a mop and washing it out in the canal, when I pointed out the oil slick and lack of care for the environment , despite my good lady being present , he thought it smart to offer foul verbal abuse , However on getting hold of him and explaining the errors of aproaching me in that way he rapidly locked himself inside his boat Question Whats the best way of reporting these people I have the boat name etc ,hate this type of attitude Plus with a bit of luck I will be alone next time we meet !!!

Just had the bathroom updated with a casette toilet, unit &sink , new floor etc . Outstanding job by Andy and the guys at Braunston marine .On time and budget and great top quality workmanship
