  1. We cruised in mainly Coastal, Waters, Estuaries, Harbours and Rivers with two cats on board when I was with my wife for some 6 years, yes they both went in for an unscheduled dip on occasion, yes, they got caught out on the sand or east coast mud frequently, but they can swim pretty good, and survived to tell the tale, If you can get a cpl of the Coconut or we had the Rope type outdoor mats and hang them over the side a few inch above the water line, this will help them scramble back aboard when the inevitable happens. Shame we haven't got say 'A Pet Section' to put this in so other pet owners can find such things easier !.
  2. HELLO HELLO & Thrise HEELLLOOO !. Welcome to the Forum, Join in, Have Fun, Ask away no matter what the question, But bring your own Donuts as I don't share. Catch you on the boards.
  3. More holes, Then If possible, you could try a Vacuum on 'Blow' !
  4. Hi all, Now a few years ago when I saw a NB make the trip from Limehouse to Gillingham I noticed they had an improvised 'Snorkel' type arrangement prefabricated out of what seems to be thinish Ducting metal !, (A bit like you see on some Landrovers) it raised the air intakes up to well above the gunwale level, and was 'shaped' to finish flush with the Cabin bulkhead so it didn't become a trip hazard on the aft deck. It seemed to work fine, can't remember the boat name, but if they are members on here I'm sure they will be along in a bit.
  5. Hi ya, I'm not sure if it's the same stuff your talking about, but does it look like this - https://www.dropbox.com/s/wv3j7bgha2248ce/IMAG0944.jpg?dl=0 If so I have used it on my Aft deck do over 7 years now, Yes it's a bit worn, but all I done was Cut to shape, and Coat the cut edges in glue. https://www.dropbox.com/s/672tm1l6ig2hk8j/IMAG0945.jpg?dl=0. Not painted, or Coverd.
  6. Good point, Sea Bream, as opposed to Fresh water Bream good enough for me, like Free range, as opposed to Battery ,,,it still an egg !
  7. Well done you, and thank you, I actually understand now, and that is no easy feat, Cheers Rocco 1.
  8. Hi Alan, You missed the --snip--Without the properly calibrated equipment aboard it's hard to 'Gauge' --snip-- Bit !
  9. Hi ya, I wouldn't worry about it,,,Without the properly calibrated equipment aboard it's hard to 'Gauge' most things that act upon a vessel, Put 3 Helmsman in a Wheelhouse and ask them to gauge Spead, Flow, Wind strengths, Lee, Visibility and what filling is best in a Donut and watch the sparks fly !. The only thing I would say regarding Limehouse is Watch that Blinking wall on your approach !...I VERY nearly hit it !!.
  10. As I've said before, I know nothing about Fish or Fishing, I even have to ask others what is caught !, I just googled 'Sea Bream' & was flooded with recipes. Not bad for something that doesn't exist !. Infact if that is the case, you could take the likes of Waitrose and Tesco to court and earn a few bob, as they sell and promote recipes for Sea Bream.
  11. Hi ya, Dickinson and Taylor are very similar as far as use goes I think, I had the Taylor drip fed, I've said it on previous posts, Absolutely Brilliant, once you get the hang of the drip control knob. Ver very economical, and trouble free due to no moving parts, and or motors, just keep the flame nice n blue, and it doesn't even soot up, small diameter flu, and the whole thing takes up less room than a lot of other heaters. No Wood, Coal, paper, fire lighters to store. Just Meths and a match.
  12. Yes, I've got a similar fan in my shower compartment, A little noisy when in use, but Brill. Mine hasn't got the light in the middle though, (Different make ecs).
  13. I should really try and do the math on mine I suppose,,,just so I know, At the moment I'm really relying on original Boat Building figures.
  14. Hi ya, Yes, pretty sure, Don't forget Nulife4-2 is built completely out of Aluminum Alloy, and has NO fitted internal Ballast, it takes on Water Ballest in the Motion Dampening V Hull. So Basically ALL of this - https://www.dropbox.com/s/6wmrse8hvdicye1/IMAG0209.jpg?dl=0 Is filled with water anyway, Which makes her a very safe boat, as you can Hole the outer Hull, and it makes NO difference !.
  15. It's only a little one, but it's home - https://www.dropbox.com/s/zt651uxgs95wvyb/2014-06-02%2014.26.30.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/14mkh0tsqe37gz5/2014-06-02%2020.54.50.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/q8ha8cpqqgntaoq/IMAG0231.jpg?dl=0
  16. Just check that BOTH the Fan AND the light is infact 12 v !.
  17. Yes, I don't doubt it, They are Massive things arnt they, and as With most things on the water, The only 'Real' power is required when Starting or Stopping. But as a Livaboard, I've got Two 100a Alternators, that are pretty much constantly feeding a 2.5Kw inverter, so I would think that takes some of the HP from source so to say, and The Weather and Sea State tends to take the rest on occasion, Infact on a Winter Spring tide, when comming in from sea on to the River Arun 3hrs after H/W, it can and has taken me an hour to get to my mooring, and it's just over a mile up stream ! When it's running in excess of 6kts.
  18. My 42x11 ft Wide beam goes at about 13 ton, Drawing about 1150mm (Fully loaded) Has got an 85hp 5 cylinder turbo engine, and plods along very happily at anything around the 7 kts mark all day long, with maybe a kt or 2 in reserve if needed.
  19. Oh,,,Did somone mention Cider !, Am I late ?.
  20. Yep, when I've been doing some of the canals I've ventured on to, it's a constant juggling act between Filling Water tanks, And containers, Doing a Supermarket Shop, and getting a walker or even it has been known an Angler to step aboard the stern, so I can get my Wheel house under some bridges, (Abd I still blinking scratched it). But then being as shallow as I can to get on with the trip so I don't bottom out, (Which was another pastime I masterd) but Watch and gauge the water levels, and fit a Jack stay to the bow, it certainly helps me.anyway.
  21. Well done you !, & I for one really do hope that you keep posting, you've helped me out on so many occasions, especially when I first joined, And please forgive me if I still call you TDH,,,It takes time for me to 're adjust, So what's your plans now, or have I missed something, Will the new TDH be joining CWDF ? Good luck matey, in what ever your next move is..
