  2. A new destination for the BCN Challenge?
  3. Probably because to most of us a Sea Otter is an aluminium narrow boat.
  4. Do NOT, repeat NOT, go cruising without a bottle opener or a corkscrew!!
  5. This rope is brand new and unused, by has no makers name or markings. I'll measure it out accurately and put it on here.
  6. Why not use a roller on a long stick?
  7. Might just stick in the For Sale section here, with a photo, but I'm not sure of value.
  8. Offensive language, abuse and threats of violence or damage are reportable to the Police. So record the tirade and then report them.
  9. What a stupid comment!! The LVA locally have said they have seen a GROWTH in customers since the smoking ban was introduced in Wales, after an initial drop, and a new pub has just opened in town. No-one has stopped anything else, as far as I can see. As for The Anchor in Diglis, I suspect it is now in the wrong place, as there have been lots of "wine bar" type flats built in the area, plus an influx of somewhat less salubrious "residents" put into a few flats around the inner basin. (We used to live in Worcester!!)
  10. The "bedroom tax" applies to ANY housing where the resident is in receipt of certain benefits.
  11. Shame you are in Essex, as I have over 20mtrs of suitable white climbing rope going spare! Isn't spliced into a ring though.
  12. Welcome back, Linzi. Please stay around and ignore the non-sayers on here. They can't help it!!
  13. Actually it could be A to B on a Welsh canal.......................................Abergavenny (well the outskirts, ish) to Brecon................. I'll get my coat.
  14. Appears to be this one: http://goo.gl/maps/BPw2O Looks like it is at the very end of the canal.
  15. Is the "No Mooring" sign official or just from the house owner?
  16. Here you are. Mike, some more details for you: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-15632994
  17. How many people realise that if they moored up properly then boats moving passed them at any pace wouldn't bother them?
  18. Both, that way you get a through draft of air.
  19. I think the Lion Quays has free wifi for customers.

  22. The advice in the dim-and-distant-past was always to do the Cheshire Ring clockwise as that way you were working up the Rochdale 9 and could use the boat to help you open the gates, plus as above.
