  1. People will be about for at least a week if the Gnosall lurgy strikes again
  2. Thanks for replies. Yep, location services enabled and iOS asked for confirmation.
  3. I guess I am being thick. I put in the postcode of the nearest pub on the laptop and it worked fine. Then I opened on the iphone, clicked on the location symbol and it asked if I wanted to allow it to use my current location and I clicked "OK" but it did not update my location. What am I doing wrong?
  4. I have to admit you were last 'man' standing - I did make breakfast though!
  5. It was badly squashed and the nail was hanging off. Injections were in the base of the finger and I can still remember them almost 50 years on! I remember my mum knitted me a little finger sleeve to keep the dressings clean.
  6. Painful, you have my sympathies. I remember breaking a finger as a teenager. The worst bit was the local anaesthetic injections.
  7. Has Ange been known to surface the next day after a Saturday banter? It would be ungentlemanly to mention Buckby. I will not mention Buckby. No, I will definitely not mention Buckby. Oh OK then - Buckby
  8. No need to worry - all legal and above board. Lovely day on the Ashby - despite temps near 20 only saw 4 moving boats!

  10. I closed them when I came down on Monday - honest!
  11. Back on the boat at Barby yesterday. Leaving tomorrow so planning a leisurely trip up to Gnosall with a planned diversion via the Ashby. Just hope it is not as cold as last year! Looking forward to seeing everyone.
  12. Change your insurer. Although I have neighbours who look in every few days it is not a requirement of the insurance co. I have to spend at least one night in the house every 60 days.

  14. It does seem too good to be true compared to other providers but there is no mention on the 3 website and it still says: "If your smartphone plan includes all you can eat data, then this is for data consumption actually on your smartphone. It does not include using your smartphone as a modem to connect other devices such as laptops and tablets – also known as “Tethering”. Tethering is included in (i) The One Plan; (ii) the One Plan SIM only; or (iii) By purchasing an Ultimate Internet Plan with the Tethering Add on. The add-on can be purchased via My3 on your handset and is also available to customers on our Talk and Text plans."
  15. Just made the local news on Breakfast.
  16. Great information and apologies Debbie
  17. Hi Dave Does the Barge let dogs in?
  18. Thanks Larrry. Not sure when it will be but probably not until August at earliest

  20. I intend to downsize the house later this year and will be looking to do exactly this and buy a property with that in mind. Can you offer any advice/tips/useful websites? I have been insured with M&S, LV and Saga (buildings and contents) and all offer 60 days away from home (you may have to tell them if over 30 days). After this time there is a certain amount of cover but it is pretty worthless. I have good neighbours who call in regularly but this is not enough for the insurance co's - they require a relative to spend at least one night there. As I have no relatives near that means hiring a car every couple of months to go back for a couple of nights (Enterprise do a great weekend rate and pick you up/drop you off).
  21. One thing to add about Skipton - try to moor East of the footbridge. The towpath/footbridge is used to get across the canal by youngsters leaving a nightclub in the early hours (maybe just weekends?).
  22. Thanks for all the replies - I have booked into Caen Hill. Unfortunately wrong end of flight so volunteer lock-wheelers will be requested! Hopefully will meet up with some of you later this year.
  23. Saltaire is a must visit. I managed to get completely lost wandering round the mill - it is vast. The no overnight mooring signs puzzled me. There is a good mooring (3 boats from memory) on the offside just past the mill going East.
