  1. Have you managed to contact him Tony? Hope everything is ok
  2. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  3. Just noticed the link to the brewery didn't work, here it is again http://www.copperdragon.uk.com/ What time does the Banter start? We would love to come & meet everyone Alanji if you need any more info on the L&L Leeds through to Barlick we would be happy to help.
  4. Tha Narrowboat serves excellent food, I would recommend you eat there. Bizzie Lizzies is great for Fish & Chips. If you like Indian then the Aagrah has a Restaurant by the canal. The Copper Dragon Brewery is worth a visit if you like Real Ales, there is a Bistro there too. www.copperdragon.uk.com/ Skipton Castle is well worth a visit, really fascinating. On Saturday the market will be on - its always a great market and finally if you like pies then Stanforths pie shop across from The Castle Inn is a Skipton institution!
  5. This photo was taken in Skipton I think - I love the comment! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=239330889525333&set=a.239330619525360.1073741951.166186256839797&type=1&theater Fantastic effort, have posted on our FB page and will make a donation.
  6. Hi - yes bring your laptop. There is free wifi at the Swan in Gargrave, The Narrowboat at Skipton and the Cafe at the top of Bingley 5 Rise. Not sure if the Cross Keys at East Marton has free wifi but I would suggest you stop off there whether or not. Great Food and real ales. Thanks for that Pluto - I will put the details on our Hire Boats.
  7. Hi Again. So I asked Barry again if he was going to be on 5 Rise again this year, he replied 'Not sure', he is a man of few words. The CaRT Maintenance Team he is working with said that he is not manning Bingley full time this year as CaRT are trying to give him a break from it. So, you may see Barry on 5 Rise, you may not. Currently he is taking boats through Dobson as the Repairs to the lock gates are not complete and there is no public access onto the locks. (Same situation at Field - which is a complete boggy mess and will need extensive tow path repair once the locks are finished). Luckily, the hirers we took through today completed an RYA Helmsman Course with us last weekend and are fully au fait with locks! I am sure everything will be back to normal by September for your guests Janet S!!
  8. It was Barry himself, who told me....He said Bingley would be covered by Temporary Summer Workers, of which John is one and Volunteers.Anyway, we are doing a handover through Dobson in half an hour so if Barry is there I will ask him again. It's so nice to see Boats moving again!
  9. Unfortunately. you probably won't see Barry manning 5 Rise this year. I saw him at the recent Dowley Gap Open Day and he has been taken off the locks and moved to the Maintenance Team. Disgusting decision IMO. Anyway, you will probably meet John on 5 Rise - he's a really helpful guy and Rick on 3 Rise, also really nice helpful guy. There are some photos of 5 Rise and John in this album from our FB page There is also a great cruise diary by a forum member which includes some of the L&L you will be visiting and has some great photos. This was from a September trip so it will give you an idea of the scenery you can expect. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=51553 Have a wonderful time!
  10. We have had discussions with CaRT today as the canal below Dobson is supposed to reopen on Monday - you may have seen they have just issued a closure from Lock 1 up to Lock 13 . We met them at Granary Wharf which is dry between locks 1 and 2 - above 2 is normal water levels, they are pumping up from the River over the weekend and will reassess on Monday. The pump is working today! Let's see. Thanks Smelly, I can't take the bow personally as I don't do the training myself but I will pass your message on!
  11. Look forward to meeting you at Crick then Stu or perhaps sooner if you do decide to have a weekend in Leeds. I haven't been to Gas Street Basin but Granary Wharf and Leeds have plenty of bars, restaurants & nightlife!
  12. They are now owned by Apperley Bridge Marina http://www.apperleybridgemarina.co.uk/#/moorings/4564542461 contact Steve for up to date info
  13. we don't have any issue with you sharing our photos as long as you credit us for it! I will tell the solicitors to hold off for now
  14. We couldn't get anywhere near today, CaRT had closed off all access to the towpath. We managed to get some photos from a friends field overlooking the site. They are on our facebook page
  15. Hi Stu jessicaBOO will be on Jetty F40 at Crick. The show is 25-27th May. There is no need to book to view the boat. Just come along, but please introduce yourself if you do. Thanks
  16. Our Boats both have pump out toilets!
  17. The Crane that fell in the L&L at Dobson Locks has finally been removed this morning. We are assured by CaRT the Canal will fully reopen on 28th March, just in time for Easter. Let's hope so! You can see photos of the Crane and it's removal on our Facebook page
  18. Wow! Those are great photos Gaz. I never saw the boat in it's full glory. I can't understand why CRT don't move it!
  19. Steve, Great Cruise Diary! Thoroughly enjoyed reading it and you have got some stunning photographs. Really pleased to hear that you all had a good time and the Yorkshire weather was kind to you.
  20. Thanks Nightwatch, we are always pleased to get positive feedback on our Boats! And thanks Steve for your great cruise diary! We will be showing one of our Boats at Crick again so anyone is welcome to come and have a look if you are at the show.
  21. Great photos Steve! You will be in Skipton by now so if you fancy Gargrave for lunch you will easily get there and back in a day - winding just after Higherland Lock no.32. Rather than stay a second night in Skipton go past to Bradley - the Slaters Arms is a great pub with great food and they give you more chips than the White Lion!
  22. You will be pleased to hear that the forecast is dry but cool for the next few days! Looking forward to your post x factor update - we do hope that Mrs W is ok after her dip! (Did she really)?
