  1. I took this shot of the Abbey and it was blessed with perfect timing. The 2 seagulls appeared just as I took it.
  2. Variety is the spice of life. On the 11th May in: 2015, Whitby 2017, West Bromwich 2019, Bamberg
  3. Definitely warmer weather on 10th May 2017 in Walsall Basin. And bracing on 10th May 2015 in Saltburn by the Sea
  4. Three very different locations: 9th May 2017 moored just below Chasewater Reservoir 9th May 2019 Schleuse Krotzenburg and Wertheim on the River Main. Onboard the MS Charles Dickens, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary.
  5. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  6. Maybe we should all lobby Thetford to remake the original type. They must be cheaper to manufacture. I had a look at their website recently and I think they’ve stopped making the C-200 toilet base unit.
  7. Yes they fit. We have both types. Unless you are fairly short, you have to stoop as you walk to use the handle. Usually cheaper to buy a Refresh kit and they also include a spare seat and cleaning fluids.
  8. Hardcastle, 5th May 2016, heading south again after passing through chilly Manchester and the Macclesfield canal.
  9. A bit harsh as I would have posted the same thing if our current government was labour. My original post 448 makes no reference to party politics. No intention to derail anything, plenty of people agreed with the sentiment. Maybe just posted on the wrong thread. Lets move on and toast Mr Trump!
  10. Turns out that home schooling under lockdown even tests the abilities of a school inspector. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52458237
  11. 7BB370EB-41A0-4964-B63C-327ED10A8DCE.MP4 4F68D5FE-9614-4D85-880C-9B438DF1A1EE.MP4
  12. On this day 2016 Thomas Telford Basin at Piccadilly village, Manchester, we woke up to a chilly start.
  13. Yes, it’s a lot easier to be in opposition.
  14. I perfectly accept that our government has made plenty of mistakes. So have all the other governments around the world. Of course they should be open to scrutiny. Many countries including ours have run short of PPE and maybe should have been better prepared. The world would be a better place with hindsight. We would know in advance what virus was coming and have all the correct equipment in place for it’s arrival. Many of my family members have dedicated their lives to the medical professions and sadly there’s never been enough money or resources for everything. No it’s not my list, I copied & pasted it and never said otherwise. Ps I’d love to have seen Jeremy or Keir do much better or even see the journalists try and run a country!
  15. Missed that one. I’ve not done the Trent Falls route, I understand it’s not for the unprepared.
  16. If you get to Trent Falls, you’ve gone too far! Keadby is the spot to get off the Trent. You then get the excitement of a sliding railway bridge.
  17. It is now on their own Coventry uni website. https://www.coventry.ac.uk/the-university/key-information/health-and-safety-information/our-response-to-covid-19/ I know that Lincoln Uni gave out incorrect instructions telling students to go home. They then changed it one day later when challenged over their advice.
  18. Because Coventry university like many uni’s has told students not to go back to their parental home. The government posted this guidance on 27th March.
  19. A message to all our Negative UK Press - including Laura Kuenssberg of the BBC, Robert Peston of ITV, Beth Rigby of Sky, Piers Morgan of ITV, BBC News in general and all the other negative UK press. Journalism is missing the "mood" in this great country of ours - the United Kingdom. We do not want or need blame. We do not want constant criticism of our Government who are doing their very best in a very difficult and unprecedented global emergency. We want and need a constructive contribution to the national effort to help us out of this crisis. We need hope, optimism and faith, with less negativity and more positive support from these journalists. It is time you all changed your negative and political rhetoric for the health of this nation and start supporting our Government. ?????????????? Let's get this message VIRAL and they might just take note.
  20. Go for it Greg, I’m sorry we can’t share Poolstock locks with you and Frances again. We were also stuck at Beeston, but in December, it’s a shame we hadn’t met up again. The self appointed Covid police probably won’t spot you, as your boat is so subtle, it just blends in with the scenery. Any who do, will be unable to be annoyed as your boat just radiates peace & harmony. Hope all goes well up in Leeds. Mike & Wendy
  21. And don’t forget to ask for a refund of your road licence and maybe the duty on the fuel in the tank. It’s not as if you’re using them!
