So they don’t!! Sorry! It seems you are ok with a freezer or a fridge freezer. Could have sworn they said the fridges were also suitable for outbuildings..maybe I just read that in curry’s and stupidly believed them! Means I need to check up for my outbuilding too!!

I was looking at a Beko fridge in Currys the other day that was suitable. Have a look on the Beko website

Yep. I used to think that Beko was a budget make but we’ve had one of their fridge freezers in our unheated work unit for 14 years now and it’s not missed a beat through winter or summer. Just has the one stat which we’ve set at number 4 as per the manual and it’s been spot on. Would happily buy another if it dies.

Look for one suitable for a garage or outbuilding. Beko seem to make many that are suitable. Otherwise you won’t have Ice if the outside temp drops.

Having just replaced a Jabsco parmax 4 that had a small weep but on further investigation was found to have motor full of water at about 5 years old I totally concur on just replacing….pumps are a boating consumable especially for liveaboards.

Because in my personal experience of helping others that have had boat breakdowns RCR seem to handily suggest that the only solution is a "reconditioned" engine from their sister company.....I have written before on here about the incidents but one engine just needed the head removed and a bit of air filter casing removed from being jammed under an inlet valve....and another needed the cooling system sorted....neither needed a new engine but that was suggested as the only solution.....oh and a RCR "mechanic"...I use the term loosely....tested a vintage engine on a well known historic boat by opening the throttle wide to see what a faint knocking noise was.....thus totally destroying the crankshaft in the process....when it probably could have been sorted with a new shell. All first hand experiences....not just towpath tittle tattle....and when Ive posted about it before one of the RCR directors got very tetchy....Im also not alone....a good surveyor friend of mine has loads more tales like the above. Tony seems to know loads.....Im waiting for him to post the links....

I would suggest getting a decent local yard or marine mechanic to look at it.....preferably one that has nothing whatsoever to do with RCR....however Im not based near the Thames unlike you so cant recommend anyone personally. If the OP knows nothing about boats then sadly they are at the mercy of those that pretend they do.

Whilst it’s probably a bot has anyone thought it might be someone who doesnt have English as a first language and has run text through google translate or similar. Or is it easier just to be a twit and make smart arse replies to make yourselves look big boys?

I would think if it was in a dock or yard it would be the HSE that investigates. If it was private land eg not a business premises then it would be a matter for a coroner.

I do wonder what happened. Whilst I’ve had to remind some bridge keepers I’m there with a toot as they don’t seem to listen to VHF these days I’ve found them pretty good in the main. Be interesting to know the full story from both sides.

Just an update from CRT Update on 10/11/2023: Contractors are making good progress, and several trees have now been removed at the site. They are actively onsite creating a channel through. Once a channel has been established, we will need to check that it is safe for passage before we can open navigation again. Although we are unable to provide a confirmed end date yet, we are hoping to have navigation open again in 3 or 4 weeks. The towpath will need to remain closed for longer than this. A further update will be provided on or before Friday 17th November.

Well one picture is flipped and the towpath is on the right as you come out of the southern portal heading south.

Fairly sure the drone pic is flipped as the towpath in on the “wrong” side.

Count yourself lucky it arrived!!

LOL....thats OK....as an update I did get a full refund promptly but I dont think Im going to be using them as a supplier again.
