  1. It draws and stays in .......it just doesn't roar like my old one with the bottom vents open - I use both wood and super therm ... I have found that the super therm burns better than xcell did tho which is progress
  2. I'm going to get a long 24 chimney to use when moored and put my little un on for cruising ??
  3. I'll try a bigger chimney .... Just looking online now - is 24 what I need or is there a bigger one just incase ? ?

  5. It's a brand new flue, collar, chimney etc - I'll take the baffle out tomorrow and try that - thanks all
  6. The wood is definitely seasoned - I bought it in a big netted sealed bag from a well known respectable Chandlers .... I only started putting wood on 3 days ago as coal wasn't getting it hot enough on its own and that's in this weather - I'm scared about winter now lol Should I try without the baffle ?? Is it safe to do so ? What's it's purpose anyway lol ? ?
  7. Hi there, I have recently had a multi fuel fire fitted by a professional company and I'm worried about the installation as it is not getting hot enough and winter is coming ..... I have a Stovax themometer which shows it around the 200 mark which is not optimum burn infact it shows it as "creosote" - even with the bottom vents open and burning seasoned wood and super therm coal from chandlers it gets warm but no where near as warm as it should .... The fire is a 'Fire warm 4' My friend has the same fire and it's completely different and burns really hot - my old fire was a Puffin and that was brilliant too so I doubt it's the fire ...... Is there anything in an installation that can make it not burn efficiently ???? Before I context my installers or stove company ?? I've only had it fitted just over a week and the baffle is thick soot too The logs are all dry and seasoned so I'm a bit stumped All help and advice appreciated ?
  8. I CC the Cheshire ring and have had 2 run ins with 'sunny'. He has such a terrible attitude ... I have sent 2 complaints to Peel Holdings also .... He is very aggressive and the first time I was at Castlefield for 48 hours and he came bellowing over saying I didn't have a Bridgewater license and was adamant that Castlefield was 48 hours and not 72 ... The next time I had been on the canal 4 hours and was just under the motorway at Preston brook after spending almost £200 in Midland Chandlers .... He came across and was an absolute arrogant arse ... I told him I had already spoken to Peter Parkinson plus I've only been here 4 hours and he told me I was now banned for my attitude and my boat would be towed off and a £200 fine .... I didn't even have an attitude but I will not be spoken to like the way he speaks to people plus he constantly screamed over me so I could hardly get a word in .... He is making up his own rules, he knows nothing of boats or the law .... he told me CCers are supposed to cruise 15 miles a day, plus lots of things about liveaboards and their lifestyle.... He is a horrible man
  9. Still no news on this breach getting fixed?
  10. Oh bugger so that's the breach at Anderton and now the Peak Forest... So there is little chance of getting to Manchester from Nantwich at the moment - hope it's sorted soon - especially for the canal businesses such as NB Alton

  23. Too scared to do on my own to be honest and my boat is old and us two are completely noob at it.... The convoy is 10 boats so safer and it be exciting too... Just got to fit this 8 full day sailing journey in around getting back and to to work thurs-sun and fetching car etc so it will be an absolute nightmare but at least we will be getting back to our home marina for winter !
