  1. This stoppage has not started yet.... I was told that it has been delayed for one or two weeks due to the weather. The canal is still open at the present time with no signs of B.W. even attempting to do anything. Unless they have sent down some contractors that are charging them extreme amounts of money for a months work that will only actually take them two days to complete and they have decided that it is to cold to work so they will leave it until the weather gets a little warmer.

  5. Having lost my wife to cancer just over 4 years ago (she was only 35) my heart goes out to you having received this news. Keep strong and fight as much as possible, even if you don't feel like it. If you need anything please feel free to talk any time day or night. Best wishes Tim And Sam.
  6. High Line Yachting have one that they employ. She is based (and lives) at Packet Boat but you have to contact the Iver branch to book her.

  8. Just to let you know the tree in question is the responsibility of the local council, Hillingdon Borough Council, they and British Waterways did look at the tree's in that area back in 2006/2007. British Waterways stated that it was not their responsibility and the council stated that they would not trim the trees back due to the width of the path??? Health And Safety above the safety of the LIVES OF US BOATERS.... (we don't mean anything and have no rights). Nice one to everyone involved next time it might kill someone and then who will be responsible for the inapropriate actions.
  9. Chris, Lise and all who help. Wow what a fantastic job. Congratulations Baldock looks brilliant now and a true joy to grace the inland waterways of this country. Does this mean that you are going to get the kitchen sorted out now? You were going to do it before you did your ribs... (I still think you were trying to get out of it..) Tim And Sam.
  10. Should We Name And Shame The Theives, Lyers and Swindlers On The Canal? I have lived on a narrowboat in the Uxbridge area for a little over three yaers now, 18 months of that on what was sold to me as a residential mooring by BW, the rest as a continuos cruiser. Whilst living at the mooring I was amazed how much diesel, gas, coal and logs I was using but I thought nothing of it as I knew no better. Having left the mooring my diesel now last nearly two times longer, gas bottles last me months not just two weeks, coal and logs just never seem to go down in any way..... I have spoken to others that were moored in the same area that I was and they have said how much longer everything is lasting now that a certain boater has moved of the moorings. So it leads me to thinking has the crime rate increased in the area where the suspects are now moored? or is there a reason that they have stopped? The guilty party (they know who they are) is a member of this forum and it would not surprise me if they read this and post a response but the facts are obvious for all to see and I have no reason to make things up. I now have a dilema as to weather to name them or just live with the knowledge and hope that others are not taken in by them and robbed blind as I was. What are your veiws? Let me know and I will see if the majority want them named and make a choice from there. Tim
  11. Hi all, I always try to respond with a wave and a smile and on a really good day even a freindly hello... The other week I was cruising down the Grand Union near Uxbridge when what seemed like a whole school of children and teachers were walking. As you can imagine I was waving and smiling for quite a while but it did not hurt. In fact truth be know it made me feel better as the children and teachers all waved and smiled back.
