Smoke alarm and cooking

Featured Posts

In the days when domestic smoke detectors were in their infancy I once attended a property fire in which the parents and two offspring died in the night, when someone realised there was a fire it was too late. In another incident no one was hurt but the smoke alarm was open with no battery, the householder sheepishly admitted to removing it because of cooking setting it off. In three dwellings including our boat I've fitted an optical alarm to stop alarms caused by cooking, all succeeded. They are available and the choice now is get one or not.

Fires are dirty sordid affairs.
