How hard is it to change a gearbox on a 3 cylinder Kubota engine? Can it be done by me in situ?

I dunno. Are you any good at changing gearboxes?

In general yes gearboxes are straightforward to change in situ. One problem that crops up is when the rear engine mounts are on the flywheel housing and the flywheel housing has to come off with the box. Then you have to twart about devising a way to support the engine then align it again once to new box is on.

IF you can get it in under the engine. And IF you have one in the boat!

Well, a scissor jack is about 75mm high, and most cars have one...

You'll be unaware of this sort of stuff - you don't have those kinds of engines
