I wouldn't bother with wind generators unless you are in a continually windy location. E. G on the coast.

ETA . Solar will be useless over winter months, so you will need to find an alternative whether that be :

Diesel generator,

petrol generator,

Engine driven alternator (or travel power),

Mains power supply

Whispergen(if you can source one).

You should start with a power audit to determine your requirements.

If living on in winter off-grid I would avoid any kind of portable generator,  built in (either a separate genny or via main engine) is really a must.  You most likely will be running it every day or every other day for around 1-2hrs and longer at 5-6hrs about every 5-7 days.

start with this free book from Victron; https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Book-Energy-Unlimited-EN.pdf
