Mikexx
I'm having some replaced on the boat. I presume these are likely to be a magnesium alloy and that welding them on shouldn't present too much of a challenge? However, are there any precautions that need to be taken? Just that I seem to remember that magnesium burns quite well!
PaulJ
Hello Mike. Pretty straightforward job really. The only thing to worry about catching fire is either the bloke sticking them on or anything that maybe on the other side of the hull (shouldnt be but always worth a check) :-)
Mikexx
Many thanks, I thought my worries might have been a little misplaced!
Northernboater
There's a steel strip running through the anode and it is this that is welded to the hull not the magnesium. I always make sure the steel tabs are blackened once on, no blackening on the magnesium though.
