hi all, i`m thinking of having a sofa in my nb, it will have to go opposite the squirrel stove and i`m wondering what kind of distance there should be between the fire and the sofa,many thanks

From a point of singeing the fabric, mine is only about 18" away and that works,

from the point of toasting your uttermost pasts, then I'd want to be 3-4ft away....

Sofas tend to be bulky and deep. I opted for a bench seat which is much shallower than most sofas. Mines opposite both a stove and dinette and I also have a central walkway through to the galley. If you opt for a sofa, think about the space it takes up in the width of your cabin and think about what you can't have opposite it.

Depends how hot you have the fire. Glowing red may be an issue for some sofas. Fortunately all sofas have to be fire resistance these days..

That means they don't burst into flames - but they can / will still char....
