Dometic tec 30 DIESEL generator

Old topic I know ..  but I have fitted one of these under the seat on my cruiser stern exhausted through a skin fitting on the hull and I have to say it's the best thing I ever did ...

Despite all the comments on here it is no noisier than a boat engine and quieter than a lot of them and certainly quieter than any petrol suitcase Genny  ... It also runs for 30 hours on a 20 litre tank of diesel and runs everything aboard with ease even the washer dryer, it also powers both chargers on our pair of boats for far less than running 2 engines and also obviously saves on servicing costs as we now only run our engines when cruising .. oh and once the battery charge settles into absorption we can run both immersion heaters for hot water. Everything is fitted to conform with the BSS (it has been checked) and an added bonus is that when it's running it heats the rear deck.

It also is on a bogey on castors so can be moved forwards should I need to access the weed hatch.

If you haven't stood next to one of these running don't comment on the noise as with all due respect you don't have a clue.

So perhaps I've missed it but what's your question or point exactly?

My point is when the OP posted this thread a very useful bit of kit was given very derisory reviews by people who have never even seen one, so as an owner of one of these generators I am very glad I ignored the armchair experts and went to see for myself.

So as a result I felt the need to post to set the record straight as I wouldn't want anyone to be put off such a useful bit of kit should they consider one.
