Ditto. We also don't use ropes that much.

 

And if we do it is the middle one and we never have to 'struggle' with it.. and i'm talking about wide locks.

I would say it is needing to get the right mixture of control using the bollard etc. and not opening the paddles too quickly.

Out of interest.. when you went boating.. who actually help the ropes / worked the lock etc.

 

well my son hez 14 held the ropes and i did the locks as they where stiff paddles

 

i think i am a culpret for opening paddles two fast

 

not to mention flooding the front of the boat as the ground paddles wouldnt work

well that would probably be your answer... learn how to use the locks properly and in a way that avoids the boat moving too much..
