And yet another one. Even if the reserve is half as much again, you would pay this in rent in a couple of years or so.

 

How many of these boats could you buy for the cost of a new NB £80,000 or so. Take away £3000 a year maintenance, as you can bodge up these old boats for a few hundred a year at most, so even if they only lasted 5 years (highly likely to last 50) you'll make a MASSIVE saving.

 

You CAN live on a boat much cheaper than a house, but you have to undo the 'brainwashing' of modern society. Mainly, to buy something to use, not to show off, or sell in a few years.

 

Just remember, many say they live on a boat for the 'lifestyle'. Well you get this whatever the boat, so no extra cost there.

The first one doesn't do much for me but that lifeboat is beautiful. I'd be surprised if it tops 15k though. These wooden boats are severely undervalued and B&O is full of similar for less (not many as nice though). I think it is such a shame that these boats can't get close to their true value, if you consider the work and craftsmanship that goes into them.
