Craftmaster Paint Advice Please

Featured Posts

I'm painting my roof with International Interdeck grey paint, which is quite thick and contains a hint of gritty particles.

I'm also painting the red stripe which runs along the rails and a bit onto the roof, and a bit down the sides.

I'm doing the stripe in Craftmaster Alpha Red, with high build undercoat.

After 1 coat of undercoat there is quite a lip on the edges of the stripe - which is fine in the roof as 4 coats, (2 undercoat and 2 topcoat), will probably be as deep as the gritty interdeck.

But on the side, the rest of which I only intend to polish, and not paint, the lips of the various coats could do with sandind down to blend as best it can with the rest of the side below.

How do I sand the new coat edges without damaging the existing paintwork?

Hope that makes sense
