Jo Green
I am currently painting the interior of my narrowboat. Where I have removed tiles from an area of the ply some of the wood has split and has been pulled away. What's the best substance to put over this area to make it smooth before I paint it? I'd rather not replace the piece of plywood if there are other options. Thanks Jo
Barge Maria
Assuming the ply is dry Jo, and not damp/rotten, I would have thought any good quality wood filler would do the trick. Allow to thoroughly dry then sand back to make smooth. I have learned from experience that you do need to smooth off well otherwise when painted you will see where you filled it! MtB
Or stick a thin layer of new ply on top of it...
