adding a sliding hatch to rear door

We have a cruiser stern with the door to one side of the back, with a step down to it. My husband has a bad back and getting on and off is painfull, so I was wondering how feasible it is to put in a sliding hatch and how much do you think it will cost.

I reckon that would be possible although I am just a random boat owner and internet user, your best bet would be to obtain a quote from a company which specialises in narrowboat engineering such as Kedian Engineering.

If you asked me to guess how much it would cost to have a sliding hatch installed over an offset cruiser stern cabin door, I would say about £600-£800.

I would drop a message to Martin at kedian engineering, he makes all kinds of retrofit doors and hatches, he has priced me for front and rear steel doors and a hatch as mine are currently wood and he is very reasonable.

Goog afternoon thanks for the recommendations We do travel as far as Liverpool price approximately £650 to £700 to include new hatch runners new hatch and brass slides fitted can line with timber if required for about £50 hope that answers your questions regards Martín
