refrigerator thermostat external

Does any one have experience or know of a good external stat for mounting outside of 12v fridge.

Have tried 2 replacement internal ones to no use

What fridge is it.

If two have failed could it be something in the fridge malfunctioning. Assume the two were new so should work.

Lec larder fridge one problem is it does not have a rear heat exchanger.

I did hear of someone on here using an industrial type external one and would prefer this .

The first original stat lasted about a year replacement would not control only on or off manual.

For a 12v there's the 'Willhi' temperature controllers on Ebay for £10ish, will need programming with the right cut in/cut out temps and compressor protection delay.

 

But I'd try another stat, UK Whitegoods forum is pretty good and can supply. Often with a bit of cross referencing the stat turns out to be a standard type, eg. one of the Ranco series, even a genuine one isn't dear.

 

Sounds like the replacement wasn't the right type, with the first might have been the luck of the draw.

I have come up with a Danfoss UT72 external good make so hopefully this will work for longer.
