Degu
Just a quick question on blacking, are the bottom of boats blacked? If yes how do they black the whole of the bottom? I mean the boat must be resting on something (unless levitation has finally been achieved) so do these bits get missed or are the supports moved? If no then why is the bottom not blacked? Grace and Favour
The bottom of a boat is rarely blacked, as it is normally too far beneath the surface for there to be much oxygen present (rust will occur most on the waterline. And - - you are likely to scrape the blacking off on the bottom of the canal when you cruise.

The bottom of a boat is rarely blacked, as it is a pig of a job and few people are willing to do it.
nebulae
No chance in most drydocks, not enough clearance .If it has not been done for years it will probably need sand blasting .Did one done once .Had to be done hanging from a crane.about 8ft in the air .Felt very dodgy working underneath .No point in blacking over rust, weed, mussels etc.
boots
We have the bottom of ours blacked, however we didn't worry about the missed bits due to the supports - they got done the next time round (re-done every 2 years)
