Anyone recognise our butty's bow and it's origins?

We have been told our butty, Christina, is an early 70's boat.

The metalwork on the bow deck is unusual, does anyone recognise this style?

Has the bow section from an older boat been used, perhaps?

Any ideas?

That's asking for trouble!

I like to live life on the edge, I once completely rebuilt my old 1939 B.S.A. 1,000cc v-twin during a bike show, everyone kept coming up and saying "Ooh, you shouldn't do it like that" and similar, I just pointed to the collection box box marked helpful comments and advise 50p a go! Made loads for charity that weekend!

It looks a little bit like Dave Clarke and some other builders who put a 'nose' on the stem post but the raised section on the deck may have been added later to accommodate 13kg gas bottles. So which builder built boats with small gas lockers? Charles Cox is one, I think.

If it is 70s maybe a Hancock and Lane?

In fact Hancock and lane were sometimes built without a gas locker at the front so this picture may be of an entirely remodelled H&L bow

This is the bow of my 1979 Hancock and Lane, (best pic I have at the moment) - your front bow is stubby enough to be a H&L but other than that they're totally different, even if the gas locker was a later addition - that said, I've never seen a hancock and lane older than '79 - mine might be a "new" style?
