It's great when these initiatives also lead to youngsters being trained to do traditional crafts at the same time as improvements are made to the canal's infrastructure

But is it just another repository for compulsory work for the unemployed? They'll not learn much in a month.

This is good too but I can think of better things to spend £1.6m on but if its been funded by the council then get on with it.

I think it's funded by lottery money, just organised by CaRT.

The 1st project is but I was talking about the project in the news article.

 

The £1.6 million scheme is part of a large-scale project led by Metro, Bradford Council and Leeds City Council, which have secured £18.1 million from the Department for Transport’s Cycle City Ambition Fund to create a safe, sustainable transport corridor for walkers and cyclists between Bradford and Leeds.
