New laptop battery - any recommended suppliers?

Québec

Featured Posts

Trying to source another replacement battery for an Acer Aspire S3.

First one we bought - on ebay, from a top rated trader - was faulty.

In process of getting a refund.

Acer don't seem to have their own direct sales, and t'internet is swarming with what seems all sorts of companies offering replacement batteries. Some are clearly so cheap as to be instantly ignored, but can anyone on here recommend a decent, reliable company selling decent, reliable relacement batteries?

I got one off Ebay for my Acer Aspire "so cheap as to be instantly ignored", from China.

It cost a quarter the price of the genuine battery

Held charge longer than the original from new (about half as long again)

Outlasted the original battery ... it was still going strong when I sold the laptop 18 months on.

I'd risk it again.

ps On advise, I always removed the battery if using the laptop plugged in.

Second that, used to purchase batteries from Ebay for all the Dell laptops that we had in my previous employment.

Dont bother with the branded ones, cost more and dont really last any longer!

I have bought two laptop batteries from laptopbatteriesdirect (for two different laptops!) and been very happy both with the price and the quality. Again, generic batteries, not OEM.
