We are starting to plan this trip in detail now. It doesnt seem too far away anymore. When we first started throwing ideas around during the middle of last year it seemed like such a long way away but now its only matter of months biggrin.png

Mind you might want some better weather than we have right now. Dont fancy cruising the East coast in thick fog blink.png

The cruising plan has altered slightly but still includes plenty of ports/harbours but gives us more time to explore them. It now reads

  • Grimsby (1night)

  • Whitby (2 nights)

  • Newcastle (1 night City Marina, 1 night Royal Quays)

  • Eyemouth (2 nights)

  • Amble (2 nights)

  • Hartlepool (2 nights)

  • Scarborough (2 nights)

  • Hull (1 night)

  • Trent End (1 night)

Then back home to Burton Waters for the final stretch. Of course all very weather dependant and subject to change smile.png

Thanks.

We are welcoming all ideas on places to visit and see by the way. Oh and good pubs.

Most of the places we are due to visit we have not been before, other than Hull, Grimsby and Scarborough. So any ideas please post them as we plan to see and do as much as possible in the 16 days we have off.

Say Hello to the Harbourmaster in Eyemouth for us

We shared the Thames mooring on the Trots with them, overnight before the Jubilee Pageant, a cheery crowd.

The Harbourmaster's Launch, 'Biscoe Kid', was built as a support tender for the British Antarctic Survey and was used to tow a barge ferrying supplies between ship & shore. Built of Greenheart in several layers, as far as I can remember, to withstand the ice.
