Rufford to Brentford

After leaving Rufford on 14th March 2013 we finally today made it into Brentford. I'm not going to post the whole of the cruise as a dairy here but I have been keeping a blog of our journey (address below).

 

We haven't rushed................the totals for the journey as are follows:

 

82 days; 305 miles; 263 locks; 19 swing bridges and 5 tunnels.

 

Having not had the option to come through Preston Brook we came through Manchester and took in the whole of the Peak Forest Canal along the way..............it ticks that box.

 

Islonian is having a couple of days rest and a welcome oil change whilst the OH catches up with family.

Congrats. Did a similar trip to Brentford leaving April 4th from Reedley marina north of Burnley, and also via Manchester, Peak Forest and Macclesfield canals, with stops at Tamworth and Rickmansworth. Fairly sure I've seen your boat en-route.

 

Have now left Brentford far behind and am at Reading en-route to Oxford then Braunston the end of this month.
