Titus
I've found that there isn't such a thing as cheap coal, I've tried the cheaper stuff and it's rubbish. Dave

GSer
I was searching the web and found Homefire for £10.65 a bag for a pallet load, delivered, 40 bags (one tonne) Good coal, a bit of a bugger to start sometimes, but very warm and stays in well. Can't find the website now but I think it was coals-2-u or similar.
churchward
I don't know any merchants in your particular area. However one thing I have done over the last few years is get a supply bought in the summer months. The coal prices can be significantly cheaper especially if you buy 1 or more metric tons at a time. Can be a problem of course if you are a live aboard with no land space to store it. But OK for us as we don't live aboard and store the coal at home and bring some to the boat when needed.
