Just a quickie..

 

When I put a message up...other people have a little picture..

I have tried to do this...uploaded a little picture...less than 50k..but it refuses to appear..?

I have tried to upload it as an avatar..but still no joy..?

What am I doing wrong..?

 

See..there's no photo here..?

Tah....

 

No worries..it's a good little program IIRC I first discovered it when I needed to get past picture attachments size restrictions imposed by our email service at work.

Ok, So I have a photo:

 

- this link should take people to an image 100x75

I go to the place in "edit my profile" that says "Enter a URL to an online avatar image"

I take out the initial http:// in the box and enter the above link

 

I get this message:

 

We could not determine the avatar you were trying to update with

 

I have also tried uploading an image which should be the correct size as well and yet it does say "Image Scale On

(This will scale the image down for you if it's too big in pixel size)"

 

where am I going wrong please?

I think it'll be difficult from Flickr. The forum expects an image with the suffix jpg. Flickr deliberately tries to prevent you from doing this by changing the references.

 

If you like, I can host the picture for you. Just let me know if you'd like me to, and I'll put it there and send you the link to the url

No it appears not, I was getting the same error message (I think) I tried all manner of different methods, so many I can't actually remember what I did and did not try I could not even use one from Facebook either and I have managed to do that before.

 

You have answered one question though as when wearing another hat so to speak I always used to be able to upload photo's to the forum via Flickr but in recent years have had no luck. It is good to know it is not just me!

 

Thank you for your help. Perhaps I need to try and master it for photo's of The Python Tour this summer.
