seadog42uk
Can anyone help, with the engine running my ammeter shows 40 -60 amps whereas my 501 only shows 10 - 15 amps. If I am charging via my generator the 501 shows what I would expect 80amps at start reducing to 4amps at finish. Regards, Stuart

Arthur Brown
Are the two ammeters in the same wire? Are they supposed to be measuring the same current. If one ammeter is in the alternator lead and the other is in the battery lead consumption in the boat could be the difference. It could be that the engine alternator isn't running up to full speed and the output is well below what you expect. Get a DC clamp meter and do some tests.
