We have not yet purchased the stove but I wanted to put the hearth and to tile the back and sides. What is the best material to use for the hearth?

Help please, We have been trying to help a young man who cannot get his engine to run. The boat has been in the marina and has not been started for about a year. The first thing we did was to charge the starter battery, then we put 25 litres of fuel in the tank. The bleed screw on the top of the first fuel/water filter was removed but no fuel came through. The drain plug on the bottom could not be turned by hand and as it appeared to be made of plastic we did not try to use grips. Can anyone help with regard to the lack of fuel at the bleed point and how to we turn the drain screw? We have of course opened the fuel valve. Regards, Stuart

I fitted a new heater two weeks ago, it has worked fine until yesterday when it stopped working. It has not tripped out and I have checked that power is getting to it. Before I go and order another one, is there anything I may have missed?

If you increase the the size of your engine from 35hp to 46 hp, should the size of the skin tank be increased?

After many years of cruising we now have a mooring with an electric hook up. My question is, should we continue to connect the landline direct to the inverter or would there be any advantage in installing a transfer switch for either landline or inverter. Stuart

When I was contacted regarding this problem the first thing I suggested that the starter battery may be at fault. This was replaced but all see got was a click when the key was turned.

Does anyone know of an engineer in the Uxbridge area who can assist a friend of mine?, She has a 60foot narrowboat with a 3 cylinder Lombardini engine, rebuilt last year. The problem seems to be with the starter motor, all she gets is a click when turning the key, a new starter battery was fitted last week.

Going back to my original problem, I have just had my generator serviced and the capacitor was changed. Problem with the inverter solved and working fine for an outlay of £98.00.

How easy is it to fit the pump onto the 3010, where does the bracket fix and does it take its power from the 3010? Thanks for all you help.
