Calorifiers?

Featured Posts

Yeah, as stuart says, its the hot water tank.

There ussaully about 50-100liters in size, say about 12" in diameter, and about 3ft in lenght.

- And avalable in both Horizontal and Vertical versions.

You can also get single or twin coil versions.

- One coil is conecteced upto the cooling loop of the engine, and then the second one, if present, us usally conected upto the central heating loop. (power eather by a stove and back boiler, such as morso's "squral", or a gas/diesal heater)

Another option is to have a small gas combi-boiler as you might in a house, or have a gas instant water heater, such as the paloma

We have a twin coil calorfyer, one coil powered of steam from the boiler, and the other off the central heating loop.

- Then also a paloma, with valves to switch between the two.

When crusing we can use the steam (like you would you engine) to heat the water. This it most usally this we do.

- When not crusing we can use the paloma. Say if where doing a day or twos work on the boat.

- And if you living onboard in winter, you can use the stove, which saves the gas. (the palomas a little thirsty if you use it longterm)
