the Erewash takes 6 hours for a single boat, its an easy day, canalplan ac gives 13 hours from mercia to langley mill but you can shave a bit off that. Langley Mill to Fradley with a pair of boats has been done in a day too.

Not my kind of boating I'm afraid - we took a nice leisurely 3 days to get from Willington to Langley Mill,

 

I can;t see the point of busting a gut to get from Willington to Langley Mill in a day just to get the boat blacked when there are a number of places much closer.

6 hours for the erewash is steady, 4 1/2 hours is quick, but i do see your point.
