Any news from Calcutt re. winter conditions

Hi,

 

Was thinking of spending a few days afloat this week but not sure if Calcutt and surrounds are free of ice or not. Would appreciate any news from 'Pond' residents or anyone with knowledge of the conditions on the local canals.

Had the boat out today through Calcutt locks. The GU was solid ice but breakable with the boat. The Oxford had lots of "ice flows" but because it was quite busy it was passable. Took 5 hours to get to Hillmorton Locks from outside Calcutt Marina.

I was planning to move a boat from Stowe Hill (GU) to Lower Heyford (Oxford Canal). Not looking likely as it stands. Frozen at Fenny Compton I understand and getting worse as the week progresses.
