Breals are you sure your system "uses" water

 

Yep, I'm sure. I have a header tank on the deck with a wooden cover, which steams slightly when the engine is hot. If I don't top it reasonably regularly, it 'boils' dry. The previous owner told me the couple who originally had the boat built used to boil eggs in it!

In which case, you either have;

 

a) an inadequate heat exchanger (skin tank not up to the job?)

:rolleyes: too high an antifreeze concentration.

What temperature should the water be - I would guess it is about 60 - 80 degrees (just hot enough to cook an egg!) Not sure the taste of antifreeze and blue colouration would be very appetising though....
