carlt
Does anyone have any info on frames stands, cratches, and top planks to support cloths and correct timber to use or any plans of how to do itBoatboss I've always used Larch, for my top planks, mast, stands, cross beams, a-frames and deck cratch. Douglas fir is also used, though. I make mast and stands 7' tall and the a-frames are 3"x2" and their length varies, according to whereabouts, along the boat, and how wobbly your hull sides are. Top plank is 11" wide (when I make them) and I made the "knuckles", joining the planks, over the stands, 2' long.
Graham_Robinson
I planked up a Larch I felled last year to suitable dimensions to make top planks and beams. They're at Brinklow Boats. Ring Rex if you're interested.
