Can anybody tell me what the differance between a long term mooring

& a residential mooring is ?

I have checked a couple of wharfs web sites in my search for a residential mooring

in my area & it says short term or long term & none residential moorings available.

Cheers

A long term mooring doesn't have residential planning permission, a residential mooring does. You are not legally allowed to live, on your boat, on a mooring without RPP.

This is a fact that is ignored by many liveaboards (including myself, for 8 years) and BW also turn a blind eye, when they want.

The issue really is there are simply not enough residential moorings for the amount of people living on boats. So you end up taking a long term mooring. However, most of the are ok if you are away from the mooring for an amount of time.

If you put a non moveable houseboat on a long term mooring its probably a problem.
