Boatman’s Stove Glass.

Featured Posts

Hi, I have managed to break the glass on my stove and have failed to find a replacement although I have contacted the main chandleries.

The stove has no makers’ name or reference number. The glass is 165mm x 185mm.

How special is the glass?

Any thoughts would be useful. Thanks

Hi there,

Managed to break the glass in my stove earlier this year and managed with the help of yellow Pages find some where that did do the heat proof glass over the counter.

Take the tranquilizers with you though, my piece of glass about your size was 25 notes! One of the things which I did learn was that I probably broke the glass one cold day when I flashed up the stove and let it go into a rip roaring heat. This, I now understand, is not good for the glass. Warm them up slowly.

At least once the pain of purchase was over the installation was realy easy.

Hi, Thanks, I guess I probably did heat it up a bit quickly. It was very cold when I broke it. I did Google but obviously did not ask the right question as I missed that supplier. I’ll try them on Monday.

Ill post a reply with the answer.

Thanks again for you help.
