Not sure if anyone would be interested to see these, but a relative has some pictures and memorabilia from 1978 which I believe was the first year of the Basingstoke canal cruises on the John Pinkerton. The skipper was John Hulbert.

Amazing (shocking?) how this makes the late 1970s look like the 1950s - in 1978 I had my second hire boat holiday, started to read WW and joined the IWA, it felt all quite up-to-date then ...
