We got the email about this closure and as we should go through the lock in a few days I wonder if anyone in the vicinity can give us an idea if it will be a quick fix or not.

It's a long way round if it is going to be closed for a while 😄

Did you get today's update.

Update on 06/10/2023:

Our local team & engineers have been to site to investigate the failed tie bars within the tailgate of Lock 2, Stanthorne Lock, on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal.

We have established a method of repair and we’re now awaiting our specialist contractors to fabricate the necessary parts over the weekend which are required for the works, we anticipate the parts will be delivered early next week.

Our teams and contractors will be returning to site Monday to commence the required work.

A further progress update will be provided the afternoon of Monday 9 October.
