Hi. I went to the Thames Traditional Boat Festival to cover the event for four magazines. Things didn't quite go to plan. I'd only been there an hour when I tripped over and fell on a concrete pontoon. I fractured my femur and had to have a titanium rod and nails inserted in my thigh. After months confined to bed, I'm still recovering and can only now take a few short slow steps with the aid of a walking frame/stick. I'll be much more careful next time. Thank you to all onlookers at the TTBF who came to my aid including the 'first responders' who happened to be nearby.

I hope they were screws, not nails! Otherwise, wishing you a speedy and ongoing recovery.
