hi all,has anyone on the forum fitted the blink wireless security cameras the the outside of there nb,was wondering if the signal gets inside ok with the boat being steel,tia

Can't see them working, if you're not on or near the boat, unless you have a Mifi. Not sure if that's the right term - router with a Sim card?

 

I have a phone and tether, so the ability to view the camera is going to be limited to proximity - I think.

Yes i have the outdoor camera's. Wifi inside at the bow end and i can have a camera at the stern outside. I cant however put it in the engine bay (dont ask me why i know this!)....  they have a small USB powered controller which if signal is poor you could have half way up the boat?

they just connect to whatever wifi you have onboard...

That's the thing, I walk away with mine, when I leave the boat.

Have 3 blink cameras outside the boat and 4 inside. Inside the maximum range to the sync module is about 40 feet, outside the maximum reliable range to the sync module is 15ft to 20ft. The sync module is obviously inside the boat.
