Fan Wiring

Hi.

 

I have acquired this fan.  240v. It has 4 wires earth, blue, black, brown.  It also I think needs this capacitor wired in because it doesn't run at full speed if just the blue and brown wires are connected. It also doesn't like starting. It will also run with blue and black and also with brown and black connected together. 

 

Can I get some advice on this please.

My guess is it needs the capacitor between the black and brown 

Mains to.blue and brown
