Paul C
Aaah, didn't spot that. Then, no. Definitely worth doing the oil change now rather than delaying. And in 40-50h time, not worth doing another merely for winter layup. Apologies for not spotting the info!
Momac
9 minutes ago, PeterCr said: So the interval is 200 hours and I'm currently to about 235, hence the question. I'd prefer not to leave it to do an oil change nearer layup time but change oil now, though the engine does get 3 to 6 hours use each day, not short runs. I use the oil recommended by the engine company. Like Roland I don't use the boat over winter and it sits for 7 months. So perhaps I should be doing one oil change now and one for winter. I would change the oul now as it is overdue. Another oil change as you lay up the boat would in my view be unnecessary . However it can do no harm. I buy oil in 20 litre tubs . The recent oil cost £56 including delivery. Oil is cheaper than metal.
ditchcrawler
I conversed with one boater who had only ever done 3 oil changes in over 2000 hs because his manual said every 300 hr. or once a year, so he was doing it once a year.
