  10. I agree, my boat is stern side locker and is a pain because of the mooring problem.
  11. I've heard of spending a penny but that's ridiculus.
  12. Fair enough, I personally don't like the misuse of CCTV.

  14. There is a marina there and moorings in the harbour. Last time I checked the price it was cheaper than the marinas on the K&A.
  15. You are correct, I'm not talking about Sainsbury. Out of interest, where you work, are you spied upon and CCTV used to see if you are working hard enough?
  16. Mines the same as yours. I think they put the stove on the right hand side to counterweight the cooker and loo.
  17. I would rent a boat first and see if it's to your liking. Winter will be a good test, if you enjoy that, great. It's not cheap living on board paying for residential moorings (if you can find them). Plus you don't have the rights of a land based tennant. Very hard to be continually cruising with a job.

  19. I've stayed in Reading about 5 times now and by the prison is very good with lots of moorings and plenty of boats moored up. I felt very safe there and "touch wood", no problems. It's a long way up the K&A before you get to good moorings.

  21. Might be cheaper to get a Gold Licence. It worked out cheaper for me. PS Good moorings in Reading by the prison.
  22. I can honestly say the ...... treat their staff worse than animals. They pay below minimum wages. They do this by getting the staff to work 30mins before their shift and 30 mins after. Staff cannot drink water while on the till. CCTV is used to monitor how quickly they work and use the video as evidence against the employee. Mystery Shoppers (Spies) are sent in to see how an assistant deals with them and they (the spies) report back to head office their findings. One lady assistant I worked with had only one eye and on driving home one day her retina in her good eye became detached so she was struck blind. Did the ...... help you bet !! They stopped her pay and gave her the staturay sick pay of £60 a week. The rent on her flat was £90 a week!! PM me if you want the name of the supermarket ......
  23. I am talking about the shops, I should have made it a bit clearer.
  24. Must have been a fair time ago, the Co-Op is now a place not to work in.
