The Shady Oak is very close to where I am but I have not been there in years. However, my daughter goes there on and off as do people who moor near me. I have never heard anything dreadful about it. But sometimes you just do not take to a place. As for the toilets ... that is not unusual in a pub but it drives me mad. But the flies, I could not live with the flies. This is a good excuse for me to go and have a pint myself and see what it is like. If anyone else is near there soon just let me know and we can compose a critique!

I am so sorry The Watchmaker and Blue string pud, I cannot read or reply to messages and I have tried a million times. I have been here all weekend but could not contact either of you. Sorry.

For the past almost two weeks I have not been able to get my personal messages. This has been a royal pain as a couple of people were interested in a generator I am selling. I can get onto the forum and if this is posted I can post posts !! I needed to contact a couple of people about the genny and they must think that I am just an ignorant so-and-so. Can anyone give me a clue, is it settings? Is it the forum? Is it just another thing sent to curse me????? thanks Water Woman

Some cyclists are great and I think all of us canal and path users have to live and let live. But the lycra louts who speed on no matter who or what is in their path make my blood boil. Manners, as they say, cost nowt!!

You don't need a tank, there will be lots of fish all around you in the water !

Thank you John and Nick. Of course I knew about the COOL air thing. Rushes to turn the fan heater placed to dry the place out down to cool The heat in the boat has been killing me all day!!! There was lots more water than I was expecting under there and this sucky up thing is brilliant. I am almost certain it was the leak under the sink which has been ongoing for a good while. I am hoping the bits of floor renewal is all I will need but I don't like the look of the shelves under the sink. But you never know. I will keep giving it a suck over the next few days for any more to run down but if too much is there I guess I am going to have to look again for the source. Remind me again why I am fighting to keep my boat???????? oh and this may be a stupid question but what is an oil extractor? Edited to ask the above question.
